There's a lot going on! First and foremost, don't forget to register or update your registration TODAY if you haven't done so alreadyand make sure your friends and family do the same, especially if they've moved recently.  On top of that, there are several ways to support the election process and your communities. Keep reading for more information.

Your last chance to register is today!

The deadline to register for the Kansas primary election is today, July 14. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by July 14, 2020. You can also register online at  ksvotes.org.
 
The deadline to request an advance ballot for the primary is July 28, which you can also do at ksvotes.org.
 

Souls to the Polls Car Caravan succeeds in promoting voting

Thank you to all who participated in the Souls to the Polls Caravan!


We had a fantastic turnout. About 100 volunteers formed three separate caravans of over 20 vehicles each. They transformed their cars into mobile, pro-voting billboards and honked their way through neighborhoods. Click here to view the news story and video. 


Volunteer at the Johnson County Election Office

The Johnson County Election office needs your help opening mail-in ballot applications. Four-hour shifts are available July 20 through August 7. Email Amber Stenger for more information.

It's election season! How's your swag?

Inspire voter engagement with League of Women Voters yard signs ($10 each) and T-shirts ($15).

Contact Ann Norbury to make arrangements to pick up your purchases. She can meet you in any Johnson County Library parking lot to hand off your purchases.

Tour the Johnson County Election Office this Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. to see how the county plans to protect voters, ballots and poll workers for the 2020 elections. Contact Amber Stenger if you are interested.

The Climate Action KC Youth Advisory Committee is creating a high-school student focus group to talk about climate change and actions they can take to make a positive different. The first focus group will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on July 23 via Zoom. Please forward this to any metro-area students you think may be interested and have them contact Matt Riggs at mriggs@marc.org.
 
The Kansas branch of Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity (URGE) is requesting input on beliefs and knowledge about abortion in Kansas. This nonpartisan organization is dedicated to empowering young people to participate in politics and development advocacy skills in reproductive justice and gender equity. They are seeking viewpoints of all community members, including those with positive, negative and neutral attitudes towards abortion. Per the organization, those who complete the survey by July 24 will be entered into a drawing for a $150 Visa gift card. Take the survey
