Hello ~~first_name~~:

This week's short update features two items. First, local town halls on redistricting are coming up next week. This is your chance to be heard on this important topic! Second, our Summer Social is just around the corner, and we'd love to see you there. The deadline to register is August 12.

Join the Redistricting Conversation

The KS House and Senate committees on redistricting are jointly hosting a listening tour consisting of town hall meetings across the state. The Johnson and Wyandotte county sessions are next week, and we are calling on all those who believe in the importance of this topic to testify.

Both sessions are on August 12:
🗓 Johnson County: 1:45 - 3 p.m. in Overland Park at the Matt Ross Community Center
🗓 Wyandotte County: 6 - 7:15 p.m. in Kansas City, KS at the Kansas City Kansas Community College

This is an opportunity to share your perspective on your community's culture, concerns, and priorities. It is also a chance to emphasize the need for non-partisan procedures with clear timelines and a high degree of transparency.

Written testimonials are also encouraged.

Not sure exactly what to say or write? The KS Fair Maps Coalition is holding a Zoom meeting Friday at 9 a.m. to demystify redistricting and walk you through the hearing process. Register now even if you can't attend to get a link to the recording.

You can find more information about overall redistricting activities and talking points here.
We need you to speak up for fair maps!

We want to see you!

Join us for our first in-person event in more than a year! Our Summer Social event offers an opportunity to see longtime friends, meet new members, enjoy some snacks, and have fun with others who share your commitment to defending democracy and empowering voters. This is also a perfect opportunity to introduce friends and family to the League.

Registration is required by August 12. The event is free and open to all. A $10 donation is suggested for the appetizers.
