9:00 - coffee, treats, and social time
9:30 - Program begins
Join us for a conversation with Clay Wirestone, Kansas Reflector Opinion Editor and author of "Opinionated: Kansas Journalists Who Proved Why Commentary Matters — Then and Now," published September 2026.
- First in our double-feature morning: Need to process election results and wondering what comes next?
- In a nonpartisan, fact-based conversation, we can unpack the results together and look ahead to the January legislative session and beyond.
- Bring your questions or send them to our League before the 7th!
- Next, Clay will discuss his book, the history of opinion journalism in Kansas, and why thoughtful opinion writing matters to our public discourse, communities, and democracy.
We'd love to have you in the room to unpack what happens(ed) on November 3, and reset for the learning, thinking, and doing ahead. And maybe you'll find your next book...
Open to everyone: LWV members, friends, and our community.
If you can't join us in person, you can watch on YouTube live or later at https://www.youtube.com/@LWVJOCOKS4VOTERS.
If your budget allows, please bring nonperishable donation items for the SMUUCh food pantry. Caring for our neighbors is even more critical as we near the holidays.
