August 26, Women's Equality Day, marks the anniversary of the certification of the 19th amendment, which granted some women the right to vote. In 2022, the national League declared August 26 Women's Inequality Day, stating "we are far from equal in our democracy." The statement demanded:
- Voting rights legislation that protects voters, particularly voters of color who are often the target of voter suppression.
- That the Equal Rights Amendment be added to the Constitution
- That reproductive freedoms are restored
You can participate in Women's Inequality Day by sharing information on social media and telling Congress your Women's Equality Wish List via the national League's petition.
