The Observer Corp

 

The Observer Corps consists of members who volunteer to observe public meetings of elected bodies and write a short report for our chapter newsletter. Our purpose is twofold:
  1. To provide a visible and consistent presence in public meetings, reinforcing the message that the public watches and cares about the actions of elected bodies; and
  2. To educate our members about relevant actions taken by elected bodies.

  • JOCO Commission on Aging - openings
  • JOCO Library Board
  • JOCO Mental Health
  • JOCO Parks & Recreation
  • Water One
  • JCCC Board of Trustees - openings

School Boards

  • Blue Valley
  • Olathe
  • Shawnee Mission - openings

City Council

  • Leawood
  • Prairie Village
  • All other cities in Johnson and Wyandotte County have no observer.
