thank you 2025 2

You Make a Difference in Your Communities!

Thank you for all you've done to make voting rights, information, and advocacy a priority in Johnson County and the surrounding areas. Check out all the information below about upcoming events for December and our next program in January.

We'd love for you to share the League information with a friend! Share this email, our social media posts, or invite them to join you at an upcoming event.

We can't wait to celebrate with you for the holidays! Bring a friend and join us December 10th at Thompson Barn in Lenexa from 5-7pm. Please feel free to bring one dozen of your favorite holiday cookie or bar to share. (Screenshot or save the image above to share with friends!)

In addition to the celebration, to address the significant food insecurity in our community, we are sponsoring a Canned Soup and Saltines Drive for the FUUD Pantry at Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church, where our chapter holds its Saturday programs.

Please bring any brand or quantity of canned soup, preferably with the pop tops. Crackers that contain separate sleeves are preferred, so they can be distributed to more families. Cash donations to the FUUD Pantry are also welcome.

Our Holiday Social will be at Thompson barn. It can be accessed by turning South onto Lackman Rd. from College Blvd and turning right before Santa Fe Trail Drive.

PRESIDENTS UPDATE
As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, each one of us needs to take some time to really think about the good people and things we have in our own life. As the saying goes, we need to count our blessings. Remembering the good and being thankful helps sustain each of us.

Our next get-together is our Holiday Party on December 10. Come and meet your fellow members and enjoy this informal opportunity to socialize and relax. Sign into our LWVJoCo website and register for this event. If you need a ride, contact membership@lwvjoco.org and we will try to provide transportation. If you have been a league member for a few years, I especially invite you to introduce yourself to someone you don’t know. If you are a newer member, introduce yourself as new and what interest you have in the league or some question that you might have.

Get out your 2026 Calendars and mark two critical dates as reserved:

January 10, 2026 (second Saturday due to New Years) is our Planning Meeting for what we want to do in 2026 and what information we want voters, and ourselves, to learn about.

March 7, 2026 (first Saturday) is our Annual Meeting (Elections, etc.).
