Federal appeals court affirms decision in LWV of Kansas case

Kansas voters do not need to provide proof of citizenship when registering to vote, a Kansas federal appeals court affirmed May 30. The decision keeps in place a previous court ruling that found the citizenship proof requirement violates the U.S. Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause and the National Voter Registration Act.
